My Road to the Bikini competition in 2022 – Prep diary – week #1

Week #1

It has been a week now of my road to stage 2022, and I am feeling good. Every start of something new is exciting. It is challenging and takes a while to adjust to the unique challenges and requirements. The calorie and macro targets are set and must be hit every day. So every day requires commitment and adherence to the macronutrient targets. We have 20 weeks until I step on stage in May. That is the plan.

Diet

The first days were a little bit bumpy, to be very honest. I chose a flexible dieting approach for the beginning, which means I am flexible in the food I eat as long as I hit the calorie targets. This can be a great approach if someone likes to eat very colorful, diversified, and just flexible.

Nevertheless, I did not plan a day ahead, so I was figuring out the Makros and what to eat during the day, which was, in the end, a little bit chaotic and stressful. After a few days, I found my way and knew what I needed to eat to hit the macros, still leaving me some wiggle-room for adjustments. In the first week of my Prep, the calories are still high at approximately 2200 kcal. My food always looks colorful with a wide variety of whole foods. I love the flexibility and that I can still eat whatever I want, as long as I hit my macros.

Workout

The workouts are still outstanding. I have a ton of energy and can hit personal records in almost all my lifts. Also, recovery is good. I get a good sleep of about eight hours, and my body battery charges up to attack every day with high energy.

Body form

My form is improving. After only one week, I have one kilogram less on the scale. We assume the drop is mostly water weight. Overall, we are thrilled with muscle lines already showing more.

Summary

Great first week, a bit bumpy, but I figured the macros out quickly. Energy high, workouts great, recovery good, body form improving, weight dropping. Also, posing shoes arrived, so now I can work on my presentation, which is essential to be on point on competition day.
