NPC Pro Qualifier Poland 2022 (LINK to competition site)

It has been about our weeks since my first competition in the bikini division in IFBB NPC. One week since my last, and I am three weeks out of my next competition. Since my very first time on stage beginning of May, my perception of bodybuilding has taken a turn.

Not gonna lie; when I decided to start this road bikini 2022, my perception of the sport was completely different. I watched videos of several contests. I thought it was “simply” getting into the best shape of one’s life, stepping on a stage, walking up and down, posing, and looking happy and shiny. Sounds easy and looks easy, right? I can tell you, it is not! It is art.

Unlimited details until perfection. Symmetry, balanced upper and lower body, a round-shaped glute, round delts, and a tiny waist – not too much upper and lower body. Wearing the bikini cut that supports the body form. Turning and placing the body in a way it looks perfect. The smile and sassiness on stage at the correct times. All this needs to be put together to present the ideal bundle.

When I started my journey, I thought: “let me try this and see how I go. Maybe it is a once in a lifetime.” I was more nervous on stage than I thought I would be in my first competition. I was disappointed in myself. I pictured myself as a strong, confident woman that would step on stage and kill it. Instead, I was insecure and didn’t feel like I brought my best to the stage. I was doubting if I would even compete again.

But then it got me. I knew I had fallen down, but something sparked my inner fire. I started seeing all the details going into the sport. I noticed it helps and trained me to be more confident and trusting in myself. It is not only about the look. It is so much more that develops and trains the mind.

Since the last contest, I have worked daily on my posing and bikini. It is all in our minds. This sport is not only about training the body, being disciplined. It is about training the mind and creating art. It might not be understandable for everyone, but it also doesn’t need to be understood by everyone.
